This is a chance to draw with (only removable) chalk and charcoal on the vendor tables around the Market area.  Registration deadline is Feb. 10 – but this is a “first come,  first serve” opportunity. There will be prizes and cash awards up to  $100!!!

“Sidewalk Chalk”, and Arts Council of the Blue Ridge sponsored Marginal Arts Event will take place Saturday morning, Feb. 13 from 9am-11am. Designated areas of sidewalk and market vendor tables will be assigned to participants to create their art piece. Artists may work individually or in groups. All sketches/ideas must be approved proir to participation. Any work deemed inappropriate for public viewing will be declined. This registration form, along with sketches or images of proposed ideas can be emailed to rhale@theartscouncil.org. Registration will begin at 8:45am Saturday morning inside Center in the Square (please use doors on Campbell Ave. side of building). No spaces will be given prior to registration and only pre-registered participants will be given a space. Chalk will be supplied and can be picked up at registration. Any supplies you bring must be brought to registration and approved. All media must be chalk or charcoal based and removable with water. There will be a “people’s choice” voting system to determine prize winners. Prizes include art supplies and cash up to $100 for 1st place.
