Each day of this years’ festival will explore a different place and focus on the cultural offerings to be found in and around that location. Each day will be organized from within the featured community with assistance from festival staff when needed.
Although the Marginal Arts Festival doesn’t have a theme, artists that work with ideas, and value communication, collaboration and human interaction will understand our festival more than artists who make art objects as a commodity.
The festival tries to define our “community’ as any local, regional and international artists (and a wide range of community advocates) actively engaged in an ongoing dialog about place and identity.
The Marginal Arts Festival is entirely volunteer run and is underwritten by Community High School (the founding organization) and in a large part by the sponsors listed on this site. Want a different cultural scene in the region? Use this festival to explore regional audiences, talent and venues!
